I like the content, format and navigation but I suspect the minority lefties will be seething.

Murdoch winning something, whatever next?

I watch a lot of Sky News on Freeview,
quite like it, don't have Sky though,
refuse to give Murdoch any more money!
Not a fan myself. More intriguing were the winners of some of the other categories though - that, and the selection and voting process.

I mean "What Doctors Don't Tell You " voted as being the "best" health website? What criteria is being used here to determine "best"? Who can best spin nonsense, half-truth and speculation as being good health advice? And if they can win the category of best health website, what does that, in turn, have to say about the award of best news website for Sky?
This is supposedly voted for by the public. The poll is by a company callers MetrixLab. metric Lab list their clients on their website, and guess what/ Sky are one of their clients. They take money from Sky and then they award them best news website.

Another strange award was Sports site of the year. Who won that, Sky? BBC? TalkSport? No, Arsenal FC won best Sports website in their poll.

Not convinced.
What Doctors don't tell you.

Quack medicine magazine full of ads for dodgy cures. There is a campaign to have it banned.

And the web site that beat all the other websites to be Website of the year is...

http://www.zylom.com/uk/
Sky was voted 'Best'

BBC was 'most popular'

so customers seem to be voting with their feet

and i can't find an explanation how the poll was conducted
Question Author
is that a "no" from you then Gromit ?

That Zylom piece of crap has actually been the website of the year for the last THREE consecutive years, according to MetrixLab.
Yes

Mail Online is the most popular

the same accolade that the BBC News (not Sky) won in the poll quoted in the OP
Gromit

/// That Zylom piece of crap ///

Oh how it does hurt when one touches a raw nerve.
I personally don't like their reliance on video.

The DM has the best layout for keeping people reading - all very clever social engineering :)

Lazygun does have a fair point however.
LOL - actually just looked at the site... apparently "WAYN" is not only the best, but most popular in the category of:

"Communities & Social networks"

...so more popular than facebook? HA!

The whole thing is a pile of crock I'm afraid.

I wonder who owns Zylom.com Gromit?
aog, are you hinting that you like Zylom? That would change my impression of you somewhat!

Zylom is owned by RealGamesEuropeB.V. a company in the Netherlands.

EMERCE and METRIXLAB are both companies in the Netherlands.

Not legit in my opinion. Just a marketing gimmick for their clients.
I don't think the Murdochs own BSkyB any longer do they?
