and create one of our own, strange that you are single minded where the EU is concerned, surely we haven't had much of a good time notwithstanding whilst in it's confines, do you honestly think if UK ditched the EU we would suddenly stop trading, what about with China, Japan, USA, Australia, and India, not inconsiderable economies.
As regards Putin's tactics there may be a degree of paranoia among the protesters but perception counts for a lot as well as the experience of the past. It says a lot that the mere threat of being pulled towards Moscow has brought thousands onto the streets of Ukrainian cities even in the east and Crimea. Russia has tried to bully Georgia and Moldova with trade sanctions and used oul prices to cow Ukraine. Putin has failed it seems to persuade Georgia and Moldovs. Armenia and Belarus have thrown their lot in with Russa. Azerbaijan has yet to decide.
The Ukrainian President is an artful dodger. He may change his mind sooner rather than later
