Just thought I would enter this on behalf of sp1814, because I think he may be a little shy considering that he has been criticising me for repeating the same stories even though mine were years apart.

andy; I echo what ludwig said above, I add for for colour and characterisation, besides, I am author of Act 2 and I will write it anyway I damn well please. :-)
OK.
Khandro - ///besides, I am author of Act 2 and I will write it anyway I damn well please. :-) ///

And thus divert the thread from an 'actual' event into a hypothetical one where all will be invited to join in a round of Islam-bashing...........again.

Go jack!!!
In light of my last post, it would be interesting to see what would have happened had the owners been Muslim, but it's highly likely that they’d have had the sense to put their business interests first – as all small business owners who want their business to thrive have to – and kept their nosy noses out of their guests’ personal lives.
// Go jack!!! // ???

Re. Act 2; I suspect a phone call from the Home Office and the DPP would find insufficient grounds for prosecution, - we are after all, a fair-minded Christian country.
I am 100% certain that the gay couple knew that the guesthouse owners would refuse a double room to them, their view on same sex couples was well known. I am also sure that the gay couple then ' targeted' the guest house to provoke a court case and win publicity and compensation. Their ploy has succeeded beyond their wildest dreams.
Eddie51 - ///I am 100% certain that the gay couple knew that the guesthouse owners would refuse a double room to them, their view on same sex couples was well known.///

Can you provide a link to that fact?
Muslim guesthouse owners would have just taken their money and given them the room they don't let their faith stand in the way of profit. My corner shop is owned and run by a devout Muslim, he goes on Haj every other year, but it does not stop him selling Pork and Alcohol.
jackthehat, No I do not have a link it is just my view as I said.
Ah, I see........

So despite you being '100% certain' of the well-known views of Mr and Mrs Bull, and also that Mr Preddy and Mr Hall nastily targeted this couple....it is, in reality just your opinion?

You didn't actually say that at all.

Sorry misunderstood, when this story was first in the news it was reported in all the news reports that this guest house was known for refusing double rooms to gay couples. This couple were not the first to be refused that was also in the news reports.
Those news reports were held to be inaccurate......and Preddy/Hall couldn't have successfully sued the Bulls, had their been no infringement of legislation.

The Bulls were the ones breaking the law and yet Preddy/Hall have become vilified for being the ones bringing this to the attention of the Courts. All sorts of spurious and scurrilous accusations regarding their motives have be thrown in their direction.

It makes you wonder why, exactly.......
*been
I'm just curious, did the guys ask for a double bed?
f they were given a twin room, they could have pushed the beds together and no-one (to some extent) would have been any the wiser surely?
I think that the Bulls might have cottoned on the next morning albaqwerty, when they discovered that Austrian Blinds had been retro-fitted !
Twin bedded rooms do make people more discreet, falling throught the gap can be so embarrassing, or so I've heard.
jack; You say that the press reporting that the Bull's views on homosexuality were known, and was disproved, how on earth can you disprove that? Hundreds of people had stayed with them and some of them were silent homosexuals, and all were well aware of their views and had broadcast the fact to other members of the homosexual community. You are being naive if you don't see that.
Also I have no intention of "Islam-bashing" but a devout Muslim family would not condone homosexuality in the wider world, let alone in their own home. So what I'm asking is when do we expect to see the first Muslim B&B homosexual-refusal-case to come before an English court? I suspect it will be a long time off.
Far from bashing Islam, I'm bashing the English judicial system.
Khandro -- that is perhaps possible but that assumes that everyone in the gay community talks to each other about everything, and shares everything, and every gay person is militant. Most of them just want to lead a normal life, and what is wrong with that? There are no grounds for your accusation, beyond speculation.
