I met Lewis Collins once. It was about 1984 and he and Jimmy Savile(boo, hiss,spit!!)came to start the Ednburgh half marathon. JS ran the whole thing in a gold track suit, smoking a cigar all the way and cuddling all the girls(now we know why!). Lewis Collins was more laid back. He was VERY hungover and said he'd been hit by the inside of a bottle. He started the race and we never saw him again. For all that he was feeling like cr&p, he was really lovely and a delight to all who met him. I still have my photo taken with him.. May he RIP.
