No updates from the hacking trial today, jury allowed day off while court deals with legal matters.

It's definitely started. There was a big revelation what seems like months ago now that they were having an affair, but it's all gone quiet since.

I expect that recent world events has pushed it off the front page. But it has most certainly been chugging away in the background, and will continue to do so well into the New Year. This is from the Guardian a few days ago ::

Because nothing is happening. A trial listed for several weeks is like that. Even counsel are only listening with one ear, on the off-chance that someone says something of interest, if indeed leading counsel bothers to turn up, He'll leave it to his junior. Sometimes even the junior doesn't turn up but sends a pupil with right of audience. That's how dull it gets.

Private Eye are covering the trial under the heading ‘Trial of the Century’, the reports vary in length, from a two-page spread to a single column in the current edition (much depends on what is worth reporting).

I would say that Private Eye’s coverage is better than most, often highlighting inconsistencies in testimony, that has not been raised in court.
