probably not, but then again most tv chefs are not particularly good looking,
they pick her out because she looks like an old fashioned movie star, like Ava Gardner, when all glammed up
BOO -
"Taking drugs ruined many a carreer in the US? Kidding right? Doesn't seem to have harmed Lindsey Lohan (among many) much."
If you eliminate the constant falling-out-of-nighclubs and so on, you will find that her actual career, as an actress, is in total freefall. No one will work with her because she is too flakey, and no-one wants to sign her for a film part because of her drugs label.
I'd say Lindsey Lohan's career has been comprehensively destroyed by drugs, and her health is following close behind.
She's still in demand for "stuff" though Andy, wasn't that long ago she made a (terrible) film about Elizabeth Taylor.
It does seem nowadays that drug taking is not the career killer it should be, Kate Moss has done ok since her scandal too.
Sorry to have derailed the thread somewhat, I just wanted to point out that whether Nigella has been taking drugs or not, it's not necessarily the end of her career.
well, according to the defence, it is the issue, flump, so they're within their rights to raise it and the media are right to report it. I've no idea if it will succeed, or whether it will do Nigella or Saatchi any harm. As andy says, drugs have pretty much wiped out Lindsay Lohan's career; on the other hand, Robert Downey Jr has got his back again, so you never know.
There was an interview on BBC breakfast (On the back of the Nigella saga, I can't remember who about though) but an American politician admitted to have previously used coke and he went up in the popularity stakes!!
Personally I can't see the TV company's being too quick to sign her up for a new series after the drug revelations, true or not mud sticks. I think this trial will effectively have ended her career.
I really don't think they're that bothered, Eddie, part of her appeal has always been that she endorses self-indulgence in your intake. If it had been Fanny Cradock, now...
Are the defence team doing a good job here? They have clients who are accused of stealing 3/4 of a million yet it's their victim who's being vilified. I hope in his summing up the learned judge contrasts the fragrance of Nigella against the mean minded tittle tattle of servants.
