to face 3 more charges,
one victim said to be 7 or 8 years old!
He's supposed to be pleading not guilty.
I hope justice is seen to be done!

If true he should have the book thrown at him - from a real height.

However, I struggle to see how it can be conclusively proved. Surely it is jut one -persons word against another.
If he is indeed found guilty, then I am sure justice will be 'seen to be done'.
Looks like he will have a safe and secure retirement..
It can be proved by the victims' accounts. By describing a birth mark or abnormality they shouldn't know about; by remembering a particular phrase or word he used; by describing a room or place they had no good reason to be in.

I just hope he is found guilty if he did in fact do those things; or not guilty if he didn't.

It is hard either way to believe him capable of those things and to believe people lie about those things.
As with all these accusations I'd be much happier if there was a statute of limitations on any civil claims and/or compensation payments for the putative victims, with only the criminal offence being considered after (say) ten years.

At least that way we could be reasonably sure that there were no 'me too' accusers hoping to join in the case for purely financial reasons.

None of which means that the accusations shouldn't be investigated (although I do agree with ymb about the difficulty of substantive proof).
I agree hc. I think it would soon become obvious if someone was making it up.
I'm stunned by this, but they can't all be lying, can they ?
Usual blinkered denials here

Jimmy Saville - "I always thought there was something pervy about him"

Any other well-liked celebrity - "Can't be true, he's a national treasure and would never do anything like this"

Peoples views are often blinkered by their affinity to the celebrities involved
I hope you're not including me in that, I am anything but blinkered, just shocked !
joeluke.

The law here state innocent until guilty. No guilt has been proved - yet so he is innocent.

I dont see anyone on here saying anything more than that.
youngmafbog......from your earlier post 'However, I struggle to see how it can be conclusively proved. Surely it is jut one -persons word against another.'

Like it was one persons word against a dead mans - Jimmy Saville?
I am more shocked by this than all the rest. I always though Savile was creepy but Rolf has been part of my life since I was kid in the early 60's. If the accusations are true than he must face the music of course, but I am still saddened by the news.
Agree with mikey, sad to hear this when I for one thought he was a lovely guy. Hope it turns out he is but if not then justice has to be done (sad).
He has a right to have his defence heard.

Indictment means nothing - Rigby's killers were indicted for conspiracy to kill policement and in summing up the judge said there was no evidence they had conspired to do anything.

I thought that was a bit odd I must say - indicted for something there was no evidence of.
Reading your question is looks like you've already judged him guilty. Let it go to court and a jury decide. If he's guilty then I'm sure he'll be punished.
if he's guilty he should be found guilty, no matter when the alleged offences occurred. victims have reasons for coming forward when they choose to do so.
like a lot of people I find it hard to believe these things about Rolf, but if true he must take his punishment, but in all these cases there is bound to be those that jump on the bandwagon in the hope of compensation, they are very tricky cases indeed.
there are bound to be people who *believe* people jump on the bandwagon, but I doubt that is actually the case.
