I would pay the subs myself but I fear the country is full of tight moaners who cannot see the advantage of the worlds best broadcaster in it's current form. The £145 fee is an absolute bargain, even though I ofen find the BBC to be a left wing organisation I do see the value of having the BBC in it's current form.

The short answer to this is no.

Apart from the odd excellent drama or documentary (few and far between these days) I only use the BBC to watch news, so if I had the choice I probably wouldn't pay £145 for that service. I know there are others that don't watch it at all. I'd hate to see it disappear though.
ymb,

// I am pretty sure most people would opt for sky //

Purely anecdotal, but everyone I know who has SKY, whinges about it. The cost, the missing football, the repeats.
i wouldn't pay if i didn't have to.
the few who i know who have Sky also moan about it, why pay for it then
