I just heard on the news that a man has been done with jumping on a sleeping swan and strangling it !! What the hell is wrong with people? sorry this mmaybe isn't exactly a question but this horrified me, what a *******

its barbaric..and i firmly believe that people doing such things will be punished in some way ..as what goes round comes round..i hate animal cruelty in any shape or form..i cant bear to read such storys as i get emotional..and as for the other post of women killing cats so they had no vet bills well their is the pdsa who provide free treatment..and also vets will take installments if people are really poor...

Mind you, I'm sure the RSPCA would have looked after the wee thing in the UK, where MargeB and I, amongst others, are. 

I always was scared of swans cos they can supposedly break your arm. 

Was this person drunk or mentally unstable or something?  I'm not saying that makes it ok, but it might make it seem a bit less.... odd. 

Just seems such a pointless thing to do.  What a horrid person! (Unless he's mentally ill in which case, what a shame that society let him, and the swan down)

Having a pet tortoise, I don't know a huge amount about vets bills, so havne't ever had to investigate the RSPCA/PDSA.  I do care about animals, don't get me wrong, but there are other charities closer to my heart and given a limited budget, I can't support them all!

We don't have to have anything done to the tortoise very often, although my goodness the time she ate slug pellets cos us �200!!!!!!  On that occasion I was ready to kill my Mum, not Plod mind you.  It was her fault for not buying pet proof pellets!  Still, alls well that ends well!

Seems all rather strange.  My money's that it was a stupid bet or a dare and that out of shame he's apologising etc.  At least he's saying sorry.  Such a shame it wasn't one of the Queen's ones - the punishment might have been higher!!!  Stupid man! Grrr!

Well, he thought it was a goose, and let's face it - goose is delicious, especially with a rich red wine sauce! And even though it wasn't a goose, you can actually eat swan (it's illegal in this country but you can  eat it - Henry VIII did) yum yum!!  Swan with redcurrant and mushroom sauce - droooooool!!!!!!!

I just think 2 myself what is this world coming too? So many awful things going on at the mo. Did anyone hear about the evil so and so who took his dog for a walk? This idiot put the lead on the dog and hung the dog over his shoulder. There was a news article on fox last night about a bloke in america who was driving over and trying to strangle ducks,they had him on film chasing them through a car wash,Then he got out of his car and chased them down the road,I believe he either killed or injured about 10.
