Now I confess I haven't read the Koran but I'd be surprised if it said, words to the effect, "thou shalt strap a bomb to thy sisters/daughters back and force her to blow up the infidel in the name of Allah".

It is bad enough when you persuade/coerce/intimidate an adult into wearing such devices, but it becomes much much worse when you use children.
How anyone can condone this kind of behaviour, or claim a mandate from god from doing such a thing is a delusional zealot, and evidently both cowardly and self-obsessed, otherwise they would strap the bomb on themselves.
Assuming what this girl says is broadly true, I would hope she able to find a better quality of life, away from odious abusers that her family appear to be.

the Koran doesn't proscribe bomb vests, but it does encourage giving of your life in the struggle against the infidel in several verses - one example is:-
Qur'an (61:10-12) "O ye who believe! Shall I lead you to a bargain that will save you from a grievous Penalty? That ye believe in Allah and His Messenger, and that ye strive (your utmost) in the Cause of Allah, with your property and your persons: That will be best for you, if ye but knew! He will forgive you your sins, and admit you to Gardens beneath which Rivers flow, and to beautiful mansions in Gardens of Eternity: that is indeed the Supreme Achievement."

//Did you know that their holy books tell them to kill all non-Muslims?//
the particular verse in the Koran, 9.5, is often misinterpreted - it doesn't say "kill infidels", but to kill idolators, which isn't the same thing. nevertheless the sayings of Mohammed, or hadiths, do prescribe the killing of non-believers, and hadiths are considered by the devout to be as good as the word of allah.

Except that the Koran passage 9,5 excludes those non-Muslims (termed polytheists in some translations) who have made treaties with the Muslims, and provides protection for those who have come into Muslim territory (the idea in the latter case being that gives the Muslims a chance to convert them), yes, 9,5, could be construed as arguing for the death of polytheists !
But context is everything , isn't it ? At the time, the Muslims had conquered a very large area of Arabia, and were expanding their territory. A carrot and stick approach; make treaties or get war and be killed; was what the Ancient Romans used, and the British used in India. It would certainly suit Mohammed and his followers to have that made clear to believers and non-believers alike.
