Windows 7 Vs Windows 8 - Dont Understand The Problem...
10 Answers
i recently bought a new laptop with win 8 on it, after having been used win 7
i was a bit concerned about hating win8 given all the negative press ive heard about it - (its not a touch screen) and have noted various ways to make it as much like win 7 as possible
i had believed that win 8 was pretty much run using those tiles - that everything was like that - but now i see that its pretty much like windows 7 - except for there being no start button and its a bit more of a palava to shut down
it looks the same, it acts the same, give or take a few minor layout changes
you could conceivably just ignore the tiles bit, and go straight to the desktop and its like having your old OS
in fact, with the addition of apps etc all i can see is that its like having a tablet on your laptop that you can switch between the two!
so whats the big issue?
what are so many people down on win 8 - could it be that many people are unaware that the desktop bit still exists and are using their laptop solely like a tablet, using the tiles etc, and thats why they hate it?
can anyone tell what the big changes are? whats missing etc - i have only had the laptop a few days, so haven't explored fully yet
thanks

but fender - other than the missing start button, i cannot find any real differences when you use it without the tiles!
if you didn't know, you would just think is was win 7!
thats why i am confused - it seems like win8 is basically just win 7 with the extra addition of the option of using the tiles etc ...
you do not have to use the tiles ever if you dont want.
