Reminds me of a competition that was held a few years ago to find the most uninteresting headline for a British newspaper.

The winner was "Small earthquake in Chile, not many dead".

The winner for the most exciting headline was:

"Pope's wife gives birth to triplets"

That IS news surely. And good news furthermore which perhaps we could with more of

'Blind man in manhole plunge payout' remains a firm favourite of mine. (From my local paper).

This reminds of an article in our local paper many years ago. Apparently Mr X and MrsY were fined for 'decent behaviour'

For uninteresting headlines I've yet to see anything to beat 'New Year continues' in a Russian newspaper some years ago

VHG, the Chilean headline was in the Times; it was written in the course of a surreptitious competition among journalists to produce the most boring headline. The winner was Claud Cockburn, who was himself a writer and literary figure of some note who worked at the paper to make money to live on. I think Graham Greene was doing the same at the time.

I remember a headline saying "The Sky at Night: A Good Place to See Stars".

To be fair, the Sky at Night bit was a regular headline for a weekly column, the rest was the actual news.
