AOG, being a foil to Norman Wisdom, and about 50 years ago or more, is not a great advertisement for then or now. And the routine is older than he is;it has been one of the staples of augustes in circus and also in panto for generations. And, no , I didn't find it funny the first time it was broadcast and don't now, though my father did; he liked Norman Wisdom.
Dancing with Sammy Davis junior ? Dancing is what Bruce Forsyth had been good at, but putting him alongside Sammy Davis only showed how good Forsyth wasn't. He was fond of doing that; he would have star guest appear and then flatter himself that he could do a duet or dance with them and not be shown up; you need chutzpah in showbiz. It never worked.
