In the new drama about the Three Musketeers, shown on the BBC, one of the three, Porthos, is black, by Jove ! This is political correctness gone mad ! It is sheer multi-cultural tokenism ! Surprised if none of you haven't noticed (one in particular)
Is this not important ? (Well, it isn't to me, but there we are) It may be a sign that black people are beginning to pass without comment, whatever their job.
I thought that since France 'obtained' their colonies in Africa there had always been black people in France. What I do not know, without researching, is if the time-frame fits in with The Musketeers?
Another thought, I do not think that I would like to see a black James Bond because, from the books, his character is well defined. I thought it odd recentlyto see a black Friar Tuck in a series of Robin Hood and find it equally odd that after 12/13 regenerations Dr Who always seems to come back as a white male?
though i quit watching after short time the first episode, rather too overblown, and not much by way of the stories of Dumas, it was called The Musketeers, so was it supposed to be.
i didn't care for a black Guinevere either, in Merlin, i found it incongruous, but it wasn't much like the story of Arthur and his Round Table so assumed the producers were more into making it popular evening entertainment.
which this seems to be, easy on the eye?
