Thanks for that, last reported on the 6th March then, although never mentioned on recent BBC's TV news reports, yet we regularly hear of the on-going trial in South Africa, how strange.

No idea. Last news I saw was reports of testimony being given by witnesses for the prosecution, probably from Wednesday. It may be the court was adjourned for some reason, or that there was little new and newsworthy to report in other evidentiary statements.

Pistorius's trial has been turned into something of a circus, given his and his dead girlfriends celebrity status and the fact that they are offering TV coverage and a news station offering 24 hour coverage.

I do not think you can compare the 2 cases.

I think the BBC were worried that there might be a risk of this trial arousing some public sympathy for their enemy the police, and the Met in particular.

Instead we got two days where the main home headline was the Home Secretary's revelations about the conduct of the police re-the Laurence murder and it's aftermath.

This is the corporation who helped incite the London riots and who were still trying to call them a 'protest' after more than a day of looting and pillaging.

This is the corporation where crime drama series after crime drama series is almost completely focused on portrayals of police corruption and or incompetence. Examples- In The Line, Silent Witness, and George Gently.

It is so obvious that there is no case for debating whether or not the BBC is anti-police. The only question is why?

Plebgate, undercover officers acting as agent provocateurs, the spying on the family of Stephen Lawrence, and the corrupt officer tasked to investigate his killing in the pocket of the gangster father of one of the suspects.
Would the BBC not be failing in its duty if they didn't bring incidents like these to the attention of the public?
Hardly anti-police.

They don't just report it, as of course they should. They saturate every bulletin and news programme with such stories for days on end.

Corruption is not confined to the police, and in terms of it's duty to be neutral and thus devoid of any ideological or editorial bias it is itself corrupt.

Agree with you regarding the BBC, on last nights BBC's 9 o'clock news they spent the first 10 minutes reporting on the Met's alleged corruption, wereas ITV and Sky seemed more interested in what was going off in the Ukraine and Crimea.

Also on Thursday's Question Time it was the first question asked, even though David Dimbleby admitted the question that they had received the most questions on was on the subject of immigration, which strangely enough they chose to leaver to the closing minutes of the programme.

It matters because it is one of the ways the BBC controls the show. By leaving the question that it disapproved of the most, even though it was the one the audience most wanted to debate, they were able to cut the amount of time the audience and panel were able to discuss it.

Once you see through their tactics you can see them at it all the time. Recently there was a day when there was good news about our ecomomic recovery. They ignored this completely in favour of blanket, almost continuous coverage of a train crash in Spain.

In the ten PM news, good news on the US economy was mentioned and discussed and the same news from the UK was only mentioned in passing by one of their thousands of special correspondents during the discussion of the US. economic news. He was probably reprimanded by the BBC's commissars for his lapse!

question time has turned into five years old having a spat, at least it was the last time i looked in, i agree about the BBC cop shows, they don't seem to show the police in a good light, we know there are corrupt officers, same as there are corrupt council workers, same in any walk of life, for the most part the police do a good job,

It's a shame that the BBC. has got the debate between Clegg and Farage. They will use all their tricks to ensure Farage loses. Choosing the audience will be one of them.
