But it didn't happen in Wales, because we kicked the Tories out in 1999, after the election in 1997. Anyway, its very sunny here today, which is another reason to move over the Severn Bridge !
Very sunny here in the North-East too Mikey, couldn't move to Wales as i can't afford the Toll Charges on the Severn Bridge.
I don't know how old you are but if you were paying in England, you soon wouldn't be.

I'd rather they didn't at the moment, we're getting pretty full! :

why do Poles move to Wales particularly?
Question Author
A truer word has never been spoken Everhelpful ! But coming from where you live, its easy to sneak into Wales without have to pay a Kings Ransom, currently £6.40 for a car and nearly £20 for a lorry.

With a bit of luck both the Severn Bridges will come back into public ownership in about 2018. They were stolen from the British people and sold off by the Tories in 1992. Its unclear at this time exactly what is going to happen but the Tolls are likely to go down to a more reasonable level. Well, lets hope so anyway !
Here's one reason why we have a failry large population in N. Wales, jno:

Chilldoubt....plenty of room here, so don't worry, and jno....the same reason that they move to other parts of Britain. Because there are jobs available that our home-grown unemployed are not qualified or educated enough to do, and/or would rather stay on the dole, getting money for nothing.
ah, thanks for that, CD.

CD - The Lleyn Peninsula has always had a large-ish Polish community - and I've noticed recently in the Llandudno area that there are a large number of Polish workers - presumably working in the tourist industry
Question Author
