Was Teresa May right to revoke this persons passport?

Who can we believe the Government, the Judges, or E2 9 ? (the man's name has been withheld for security reasons)

Seems to me that I doubt that the authorities would revoke this man's passport for bl**dy minded reasons, yet the man involved will of course say he has been unfairly treated, who knows?

i don;t know what to make of it, it's a confusing story, it says he integrated into society here, but holds Afghani citizenship, so can he also hold British citizenship. Holidaying in Pakistan whilst visiting relatives, perhaps its the word the piece is worded, i have read through it twice and still don't understand. He is saying he is a British citizen - if that is the case why isn't he being looked after by the consulate

yes, on this occasion, divebuddy is correct, the security services must have something on him and the home sec will take their advice. What if she didn't and the guy commits and act of terrorism down the line, I can just imagine the whining from the left.

some are going to say this smacks of totalitarianism - however if Ms May thinks he shouldn't come back, then so be it. Can we get rid of some of the other undesirables that pervade this country

The article shifts between depriving him of his second nationality (British) which the Home Secretary can lawfully do so long as he has one to fall back on (he does)

and withdrawing his passport ( which may or may not involve taking his nationality away )

I dont know if having a passport is a right or a privilege - if the latter she can do that.

Gareth Pierce was being a bit fruity - exile was outlawed by the Magna Carta in 1215. but I imagine she is paid to say these things

Internal exile was still used in the 70s. A number of Irishmen were banished from the UK mainland and sent back to N Ireland
