I don't know - I did think there were supposed to be measures in place to prevent stuff like this from happening, but evidently not, at least in Chicago.
I've been there before (as a passenger on that train-not a driver!) and am going again in a few weeks time! Understand they are running shuttle buses while they move the train and assess damage. Hope that situation doesn't last as long as it usually does in UK. Agree it's a miracle no one was killed. Thank god it wasn't during the day time, those escalators are usually packed.
this was at the airport,
we have had train crashes and of course the 7/7 bombings, i hate our underground, i use it but don't ever feel comfortable on it.
actually that's not strictly true. the circle line has for a few years comprised an "end to end" service from Edgware Road, anticlockwise via Victoria and Tower Hill back to Edgware Road and then via Westbourne Park to Hammersmith. this was done to try and improve reliability.
