I suspect that they had both been drinking in two separate places.

The daughter got caught and rang her mum who downed tools/glases and rushed to her aid. That's my theory anyway.
Hi Mikey4444

looks like it, daughter first in her car & then mother later when she went in her own car to the police station, is how i'm understanding it.

"I was so upset at my daughter being arrested for drink driving, I finished off my bottle of vodka, hopped in the car and drove down to the police station to get her out."

Doh!

///She had gone there after her daughter, Maxine Ashcroft, 56, was earlier arrested for the same offence///

Looks clear enough to me

I thought that might be the case. Oh well, two more drunk drivers off the road for a year or so.

Wasn't she Rita Faircloth, rather than Rita Tanner ?
She recently married Dennis Tanner who has upped and left her for another woman !

Thanks AOG...I never seem to look in there
'Rita' blew between 35-49 mils and the police have sent a blood sample off.
The legal limit is 35 mils in the breath so she was only just over the limit.
^^ they take the lowest of 2 readings so she would be over the limit.
I got stopped for DD 13 years ago and I blew 36 twice, that was a blood sample case. The officer said I was the least over the limit he had ever had to charge. Still got £150 fine and a years ban. I thought i had got away with it when they said they had to call a doctor to take the blood sample, I was expecting it to take 1/2 an hour or so and I'd be under the limit by the time he arrived, but he was there in 3 mins flat , I think he must have been waiting in the next room.
