the point being we haven't heard him do anything at all, so how could he possibly be a shoe in for a safe labour seat. Wouldn't that be for those who have some credibility in the area, some connection apart from his mother.

Not sure why we are judging this chap before he actually does anything !

Isn't he married to the Prime Minister of Sweden or something similar?
Did he get the nomination on merit? I wouldn't like to think there was any nepotism involved.

Gromit...That's Kinnock's son who's the husband of prime minister of Denmark
i think that some of the activists have not got this one right,
has any one heard him do anything in politics up to this point,
we know Hilary Benn has, as to merit, what's that .
jom, nice little earner for Kinnock and co then
Thanks Jomlet, I had just realise my mistake. Too many political dynastys.
far too many ^
A few more dynastys on there way perhaps as Jack Straw's son Will and John Prescott's son David are being lined up.
people shouldn't trade in on their family name, certainly not in politics,
they need to be their own man, or woman

The odd thing, though, is the talk of Blair's son that is coming from local party activists who are considering inviting him to put his name forward, rather than from Euan Blair himself.
jom, indeed, so why doesn't he say something, or does the fear of a backlash make him say nothing for now.
emmie

Which politicians have you heard of, before they entered the Houses of Parliament?
those who do something before becoming an MP, local councillors for one, those who work for MP's, you don't just generally fess up on the day and say here i am, without some form of knowledge of the political arena.
just because he has famous parents, why haven't we heard before he has political aspirations, following in daddy's footsteps. Canvassing for his party, working on their behalf, many of the current crop worked in the political forum before becoming MP's.
interesting, he left Morgan Stanley to work for this group,

emmie, I was just having a flashback to old labour, you know when socialists were ermmm...socialists?
as others have said, Blair wasn't a socialist, he was Mrs T's successor
