How can it be remotely possible that a woman can give birth to 7 children, without anybody knowing ? 1 or 2 maybe, but 7 ?

We are used to weird news coming our way from across the Atlantic, but this is bizarre to say the least.

Very strange indeed, almost unbelievable!!

I wonder whether all of them went to full term.

It's possible that she had multiple miscarriages...

But even so...very, very strange.

If they were very early miscarriages then this would start to make some sense I suppose. Very odd though.

The bit in the story that made me think of miscarriages was this:

"Seven bodies were found by police at the house in Pleasant Grove; it is unclear why she has only been charged on six counts."

If that seventh baby was obviously pre-term, then she wouldn't have been charged with murder. That was the only explanation I could come up with.

Grim.
Presumably in today's type of society if someone doesn't draw attention to themselves then the neighbours and authorities may not even be aware of pregnancies. Strange the father(s) were not aware though. The estranged husband would surely have been in touch over that time at some point or other. But maybe not then.
Could be late miscarriages. A baby born under 30 weeks has a slim chance of survival without medical intervention.

Hormones can make people do some crazy things!

I take back what I wrote earlier.

Just seen this in The Independent:

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/utah-mother-megan-huntsman-confesses-to-strangling-six-newborns-9259767.html

So...they were newborn, and she strangled them.
Blimey.
Nope
it has happened before - it was seven consecutive pregnancies and not at one time.

Pathologically it is whether a piece of the little child's lung floats or sinks in water.... if the lung floats then the child has breathed and it is murder.

Teare the [now dead ] pathologist described five in the later fifties.
