i do find her comments rather odd, what kind of research has she done, what sources she did access and to be quite truthful shouldn't she be looking rather more close to home

Seriously though, this woman needs to get a life. It's comments like this that really dont help 'the cause'.
Thins tlike this aer not goign to change overnight, look hard enough and you will find instances for many decades to come, but over time attitudes and culture (well some, not those stuck in the 15C) change.
Perhaps that is what she is getting at, we have been invaded by so many people with a culture of oppression of females that she thinks its the norm in the UK.
So maybe it is understandable why she says this.
