Can someone explain to me the exact situation in Gaza, where Israeli troops are trying to evict Jewish settlers? Haven't been paying much attention and want to get my facts straight.
Thanks oh oasis of intelligence.

Learn some facts behind the present situation:
The notion that the israelis created an oasis in the desert and that the palestinians want the land now that it is well presented will prevail. The plain truth is that the settlers have created beautiful, well laid out settlements. The houses are modern and a lot of love has been cherished on the land. There is no doubt that they are a hard working, resourceful people. You should also bear in mind that they were wealthy with access to a lot of funds from the govt to settle in those areas. Now perhaps if the palestinian authority had that kind of cash maybe even they could create such a beautiful place.
I read somewhere that an american group has purchased the green houses and other related industry from the settlers with a view to handing them over to palestinian people and prevent destruction by the leaving settlers. For the major part most settlers are leaving their homes intact. It is difficult to destroy something you loved. TV pictures of those doing cosmetic damage is just sensationalism. I now hope that the houses are handed over to those palestinians who hold the title deeds to the land and not to some cronies of those in power. The corruption prevalent in the palestinian authority is worrying.
