Freepost Protest

So, further to my earlier thread, it seems that a sizeable number of people have taken to returning UKIP's fliers at the party's expense - typically wrapped around heavy objects.

What I didn't realise, however, is that this actually mimics a local campaign in Nottinghamshire to do the same things to the Lib Dems in 2011.
Do you think this is a valid method of protesting against a party?

trying to bankrupt a party doesn't seem to me to be the way to go, and I hope Ukip have the option of neither collecting nor paying for mail wrapped round bricks. I might consider doing it with a flier that was actually offensive; otherwise I'd prefer to deal with Ukip bumf as with that from any other party: read it or not, keep it or not, as I saw fit. Jolly japes like this don't do much for the democratic process.
I wonder how many of these protesters will be voting for parties that have green policies? I`m not sure that sending bricks and the like through the post (with their associated carbon footprint) would be in keeping with that ethos but then again, I doubt that they will think beyond the initial knee-jerk reaction.
