Generations of dedicated people have given up their spare time in the pursuit of introducing the young to the joys of scouting, no one has been barred no matter what their background, colour, religion or creed.
Nothing against this chap he is doing a fine job, but why is he so different from all those who have gone before him?

David Cameron has given Mr Cheema, an engineer and father from Bristol, the Points of Light award for his outstanding commitment to volunteering and transforming people's lives. Points of Light is an idea borrowed from the United States. It was set up by George Bush Snr and continued by his successors in the White House, to recognise people who make a difference to their community and inspire others.'
However, my first reaction is 'another blooming idea imported from the States'

Are you in a tizzy because he got the points of light award or because of the prime minister applauding him?

I think Amir Cheema deserves his award, well done Mr Amir Cheema
Reading the report, it appears that Mr Cheema has gone 'above and beyond', by travelling across the country, setting up scout groups. I assume he was given this award due to outstanding service, in the same way that others who do good works are awarded OBEs etc.
I applaud people like this.
Good fella.

I think this chap is an example to us all. I have been involved with the Scouting movement in the past and it can absorb all your time if you let it.
Muslims are always being accused and castigated on here, and in the media in general as not involving themselves in the general community. Here is one who is, and I think it deserves all the praise going. Well done that man !

There is no God, Ron. I have nothing but contempt for religion and for those stupid enough to believe in it. I've physically ejected a bishop from my classroom for wearing a Christian cross. I've organised Bible-burning parties and I've stood outside churches with banners declaring 'There is no God'. Further, I regard those who introduce religion to young people (such as Sunday school teachers) as the very worst type of child abusers. I think my views are reasonably clear on the subject!
