I rarely venture down to this part of the site as it is much too scary and serious.

But I thought that I would post this news story ~ just out of pure devilment. (Is devilment a real word?).

The poor guy.
I notice there was no mention of whether his scheduled surgery has been done and if he's suffering from what he was due to be operated on has been carried out.
If it hasn't, then if I was the guy, I'd be loathe to let anyone near me!

However, this sentence in the article could have been worded better.
'Even if a surgeon manages to join up the tubes again, pregnancy may still not be possible.'

I hope the patient keeps his anonymity if that's what he wants, but friends and family will know him :-(
Ouch !
The mind boggles. In fact the mind has never been so boggled!

Yup. Devilment is indeed a word. :o}
"Ouch".
I personally would like a free snip and tie, but I have four children.
I sincerely hope the hospital has the balls to come clean over this issue.
What a disgrace.
The poor fellow.
Dr Disaster is still working!
(extract from the daily tele. Oz)
A doctor removed the wrong kidney from a patient, (took their only good one).
Unnecessarily removed a testicle from another.
Said to have botched another 4 surgeries.
Incorrectly positioned a stent and severed an artery and can still work in "private hospitals".
The government is "still making" its decision as to should he be struck off the registry of practitioners..
Makes one wonder.
Gee what a balls up ! Hope they have managed to sort it out.

Don't tell me, he went in to have his Tonsils out, and they pushed the Trolley into the Operating theatre the wrong way round!
@ Baldric
Do you think the surgeon may have asked him to say "Aaargh"
Oh, heck.....perhaps I'll have a rethink..... :-(

Think it would have been a very big "Aaaaargh" if it was me!!
How much Ice-cream would you get after that?
Probably heaps.....but not down your throat.
Baldric....ice cream is banned now.....I know....my tonsils were removed by mistake....seriously......and then they won't let you home til you can swallow dry, well done toast.....imagine that... ;-)

Crunchy Nuts!!!!! ?
Hello Gness.
Was your trolley pushed in the wrong way around?
Difficult to understand how this happened.

Patient given a name tag in the ward and applied to the patient's wrist. The patient confirms it is the right name on leaving the ward and confirms again in the aneasthetic room BEFORE anesthesia.

The patient's notes should always be with the patient from ward to theatre and checked.

Difficult to see.......what went awry.
No, 1ozzy....simply a wrong diagnosis......

Sqad....maybe the notes are to blame.....mine still contain the eye test results of a lady with the same name as me.....and the letters about the serious leg cancer.....don't know whose they are....could still be there for all I know.

Sqad, my 08:55 post, unlikely you think?
I do feel sorry for him, but that mistake should never have happened.
Did he pay for it, guess it was a snip at 2000
Baldric..;-)

gness.....same name, same DATE OF BIRTH?..........unlikely, but if identified, should be rectified immediately.
