Or not. Maybe we should have pitched for the contract?

/// One commenter notes that expletives are part of everyday speech. "If they ban swearing in Russia, all technical progress will grind to a halt," he says. "Warehouses will close and the army will lose its combat readiness. For our Motherland, it will be the end," he adds, deploying a euphemism that sails close to the official guidelines. ///

Do you feel the same would be true in this country, if we banned swearing?

Would you support some kind of intervention regarding swearing in the UK?

no you haven't
That's the beauty of rhyming slang. When I worked in Bruxelles the locals though it was a brilliant idea and even started adopting it themselves. One even got a copy of Viz profanasorus!
Did you sell them the avatar banner too?

Or given my anti Euro avatar got me banned from avatars I guess you sold that contract to Bruxelles.
no. we don't have enough freedom on AB, now. imo.

It's funny really, it's nothing to do with your politics, more the middle finger that upset people. I attempt to reflect the feeling of the majority of users, and they thought your Avatar was rude. So it went.

Have you changed it?

Svejk, this is a private enterprise, we can do whatever we like within our domain. I'm asking about governments/state intervention. You can continue being a grumpy sod if you wish and we'll see how far you get.

If they can manage to ban words in children's traditional nursery rhymes then they may do anything in the future!

the English can't exist without swearing. In the Middle Ages the French used to call them les goddams.
and here

is a recipe for Russian Salad Chefs.
..which as the French cuss a blue streak in everyday chit chat is a bit strong!

Already there B00 :)

I think swearing is important, but it's also important that it's something taboo, otherwise it loses its weight when used.

I think the system of grumpy editorials and tutting we have here is about right :)
There is a place for swearing, and it's not in everyday conversation. I despair of the conversation of people in the street, including the youngsters, who think that F is the only adjective.
