Corby...interesting post ! I think you may be right. Anyway, the people have spoken and their voice has been heard. That is why we hold elections. I do not believe UKiP did badly in London because the capital is more ethnically diverse. It did badly because London has a high number of Labour seats. Looking at the other cities in the UK and especially in the North, which are Labour controlled, UKiP also did badly.

It is clear, the perfect constituency for UKiP to cause political disruption is one full of disaffected Conservative voters with an incumbant Consetvative administration (or MEP/MP).

Apparently, according to this mystery figure, UKIP did badly because London is a " cultured, educated and young place" So, I suppose we can infer from that statement, that the opposite may be true in places where UKIP did well
...Uncultured, uneducated and old.
