Who is going to be the next Leader of the LibDems is rather an academic question as far I am concerned, as the Party is dead in the water, and looks to remain so for perhaps a generation. But supposing I were Cleggie, I would check in the mirror next time Cable is around, firstly to see if he casts a shadow, and secondly, to make sure he hasn't left a knife sticking out of my back.

I agree mikey, Clegg has had his day methinks it's only a matter of time before Cable makes a move. I can't stand either of them. They will have to reform their ideas if they want to attract voters.

Alas, I don't think it really matters AYG who is leader, I really don't. Its the Party that is the problem, not the personalities involved.

They sealed their fate that afternoon in the summer of 2010, when Clegg and dave appeared in front of the same microphone, in the back garden of Number Ten. People will not forgive the LibDems in a hurry, for supping with the devil.
//as far I am concerned, as the Party is dead in the water//

In October 1986, they were saying the same thing about Manchester United - in the relegation zone and with a squad full of players who drank too much and were hopelessly unfit.

Then on November 6th, Alex Ferguson arrived.

Its going to take more than Alex Ferguson to revive the LibDems, and anyway, isn't MU going down the pan somewhat these days ?
They wouldn't have had a sniff of No10 without 'supping with the devil' mikey. and they have proved themselves to be lacklustre while in coalition with the Tories.
Exactly, would the party faithful rather have sat on the sidelines and had no libdem policies implemented or 'sup with the devil' as you put it and at least have some (actually more than their share) say?

Your post did make me smile Mickey, not because of the people but the way you wrote it.

If all I have done today is to make you smile ymb, then its a day well spent.

I wouldn't trust Cable one little inch.

One thing I would like to know is....if Cleggie and Cable were pouring pints, where the hell was Farage ? Its not like him to miss a pint when there's one going !
A pair of wet lettuces. Most Jelly babies have more spine than the pair of them put together

I'm going UKIP next time round. Labour, Conservatives, and Lib Dems are all completely useless and full of empty promises. They have had years to prove themselves and all 3 have failed miserably.

Time for a complete shake up in UK politics.
Question Author
But how will it change anything Spanner, if UKIP don't win the Election next May ? Because they won't. In fact, they may not get any seats whatsoever, so what will have changed ?

Labour or the Tories will be in power this time next year. They are the only game in Town. UKIP certainly won't.

By the way, do you know any of UKIP's policies, apart from the fact that they want to leave the EU ?
I don't think its all to do with being coalition Mikey.I think the biggest gripe people have is that Nick Clegg opened mouth without engaging brain on the subject of university tuition fees.To quote Lord"Paddy"Ashdown in the Andrew Marr show on Sunday when asked about the Lord Oakeshott resignation he said if he were looking to oust someone he would "choose his Iago's carefully".
Does it matter ? We are a pragmatic people . We like clear cut policies from left or right not some wishy washy pick and mix compilation from the entire political spectrum.
That's the problem with the EU it's a rag bag of the lowest common denominator . No wonder its attractive to the LibDems.
You may have a point there modeller. The only thing that bothers me is if Tony Blair ever gets his nose in for the Presidency of the EU.
Does anyone else think that the bonhomie in that picture looks a bit forced?
