I felt after my post had gone to the thread that I had been somewhat superior and nit-picking with my response - please accept my apologies for that.

As you correctly advise, there are additional aspects of behaviour which are adding to the violence of rape.

I still maintain that selecting an albeit important and emotive aspect of warefare somewhat detracts from the notion of stopping warfare altogether, which would have the additional benefit of eliminating this barbaric side-effect that comes with it.

Stopping war altogether will only ever be a notion. It'll never happen, irrespective of how many conferences they have on sexual violence, so I wouldn't criticise them on that basis.

In the main I agree with Ladybirder - they're high profile people doing a worthwhile job. However, I do think Andy's comments at 14:37 and 16:57 Tue 10th Jun speak for themselves. He is sneering. Cynical? Moi?
