The voice of Captain Scarlet, actor Francis Matthews has died. I remember him as Paul Temple on the radio.

May he rest in peace.

Sad news.

I was also saddened the other day to hear on QI, that the actor who played Robin in TVs Batman went on to be a porn star.
I think he only portrayed him on T.V.
Why would that make you sad Hopkirk? That's actually quite funny:)
Sad about the Capt Scarlet actor dying though
Yes, sad news & thank you for pointing it out, marval

RIP Francis
That's actually quite funny:)

Only if he had his 'Robin' garb on whilst performing though!
I remember him in Paul Temple as well, which ages me I guess ! You can still listen to Paul Temple through the medium of Radio 4 Extra. Wonderful actor.
Wasn't he in a famous TV series as well ?
A name many of us grew up with - RIP.x
The famous TV series he was in was.......Paul Temple!

I didn't realise that he played Temple of the TV as well as radio...thanks
Sipowicz.
He didn't play him on the radio.
not that I want to argue with QI, but as far as I know, Burt West only appeared in a softcore thing called Virgin High

Ah !.....read your link again Sipowicz ...apparently he wasn't the one who did Temple on the radio...memory plays trick sometimes !
Sad news.
I remember him particularly as Paul Temple - it was one of the first "adult" TV programmes I was allowed to sit up and watch on a Sunday evening. In the days when TV drama didn't rely on gimmicky plots and lots of location stuff (old fogey mode there!)
I'm not sure I ever realised he was Captain Scarlet (another favourite)!
very sad news remember him in old Dracula: Prince of Darkness film R.I.P
