As regards messages being deleted automatically from Mobile phones, I understand that only so many can be held on an account, and when a new one is added, the oldest one "drops off" so to speak. So the actions of the NOTW gave false hope to Milly's parents, a wicked thing to do. It was none of the NOTW business whatsoever to listen to any ones voice messages let alone this poor girl who was already at the time.

is that down to the network you use from memory mine would just block up and not allow any new ones to be addded
Which is my point exactly methyl !...thank you.
DrF ...to be honest I am not sure but it was said after an investigation that this is what happened in the Dowler case. Its kind of academic though, as the NOTW has no business in hacking into her phone in the first place

think some phones have a mind of their own

internet connection blocked and so are voice mails so it is not possible to leave a message to the phone

take a look at the picture

Maybe DrF but the NOTW is still guilty, not the Guardian, Telegraph, Channel 4 News, etc, etc.

The Millie Dowler claims may have been false but the NOTW still admittedly hacked thousands of other innocent people over the years so I have zero sympathy.
"no evidence" for the claim was found. That doesn't make it false; for it to be false you'd have to prove it was wrong, and that hasn't been done.

So the Daily Mail is... making... a false claim. Fancy that.
Daily Mail...making a false claim ?...surely not jno !
I say this with the greatest hesitation, mikey, I don't want to traduce the name of one of our fine newspapers...
Actually I agree jno...this is about Rupert Murdoch and the NOTW. As my Steve Bell cartoon this morning says, I wonder if this is another one of Roop's
humblest days of his life, again.
really, I thought it was about the guardian using a bent copper to misinform its gullible readers.
jno...it seems that you can take a horse to water but its not always possible to make it drink it would seem !
I would dearly, dearly like to know how many skeletons are in the Daily Mail's closet. Wouldn't it be nice for it to get a NOTW-style "treatment"?
Well, the paper did strong support to the Blackshirts Kromo......isn't that enough !

Although that was a long time ago and we did win the War after all. I'm sure that they don't support this sort of thing nowadays do they ?
But the Guardian wrote false claims Mickey. Go on - admit it.
