Zero hours contracts are favoured by some workers but to be tied to one employer without guarantee of work is wrong.
I thought this would have already been covered by employment law anyway in that I'm pretty sure you cannot prevent people from earning a living.

I agree ymb. The exclusivity contract was dodgy from the very start and I can't see that it would have stood any examination in Court. But the hundreds of thousands working on zero hours contracts are highly unlikely to take matters to court, therefore the employers win whichever way they turn.
But at least Cable has finally got his act together, although quite why he has taken so long is beyond me.
