Should A Convicted Rapist Be Allowed To Resume A Lucrative Career In Football?
Answers
Over here professional sportspeople have been banned from their sport for much lesser sins. It sends a message to other sportspeople and the community at large that that sort of behavior will not be tolerated.

There's rape and there's rape.
There is a difference between assaulting a random female on an isolated path, dragging her into the bushes and raping her forcibly and an instance of some star struck football groupie withdrawing consent half way through a hitherto consensual encounter.
Yet both 'perps' could be 'convicted rapists'.
Perhaps one should be ostracised and the other sympathised?

Murderers should get even less money than burglars.
My point is that apart from the obvious things like paedophiles not being allowed to work with children etc, you can't restrict what people do for a living after they've been punished for a crime. If someone who knows their history is still prepared to employ them, that's their business.
