Police Finally Investigate Wonga
http:// www.bbc .co.uk/ news/bu siness- 2805714 3
Not sure why they haven't stepped in before. Impersonating a solicitor is a very serious offence.
"An investigation by the regulator found that Wonga sent letters to customers from fake law firms called "Chainey, D'Amato & Shannon" and "Barker and Lowe Legal Recoveries", sometimes charging customers a fee for these letters.
The plan was to make customers in arrears believe that their outstanding debt had been passed to a law firm, with legal action threatened if the debt was not paid"
How much longer are firms like this going to be tolerated by the Government ? It now appears that they guilty of criminal behaviour, like fraud, as well as acting like shysters.

But I get the jist...what he, and you are saying is that if you haven't got a TV Licence, you have to go to Court to prove it. This doesn't sound very fair to me but if its within the confines of the law applying to licencing, than I guess the authorities are within their right to take such action, as it is highly unlikely that the Court would allow these appearances to continue if they weren't.
But what are the Licensing people to do about all the fraudsters that don't have a licence ? The BBC is one of best-loved organisations and needs to be funded in some way. I would pay my licence for The Today Program, The Archers and the Proms, all radio if you notice, alone ! A lot of my neighbours don't seem to have TV Licences, which they could easily pay out of their benefits if they wanted to.
By the way, you are on here quite a lot...wouldn't it be cheaper if you were to get a Internet package from your phone supplier, like BT for instance, rather than use a dongle ? It would probably be cheaper and better all round.

The venture capitalist and chairman of Dawn Capital, Adrian Beecroft, has donated over half a billion pounds to the Conservative Party in the past eight years. Dawn Capital holds a substantial amount of Wonga's stock.
