His only crime, being a Jew and once working for the Daily Mail.
/// Next came a barrage of links to a message board on Muslim website Ummah.com. The top post was headed: “i am pledging allegiance to the caliphate”. ///
/// It read: “salam my sisters and brothers we should get out of this evil country and pledge our allegiance to the Muslim sharia law and get out of evil west. who wants to join me so we can wage war and jihad against the corrupt west.” ///
Let us hope that some of his 'Brothers' and 'Sisters' follow his advice, and get out of our country.

@DMReporter, which claims to shine a light on bad journalism.
Do you think they meant 'to incite'?
You'd have had a terrific response from 'outraged' ABers, AOG,(including the 3 above) if only the original story was true. Still we've got it on record for future reference that people only need to ignore fabricated 'smears' to make them non existent.

ummmm - "I think there is a certain morbid curiosity."
A fair point.
It seems to me that there are two kinds of people in this world -
those who do not have an attack of the vapours if a total stranger chooses to be nasty about them via the medium of social media, and those who do.
The former are fine to use social media, the latter are not.
It should be a simple matter to establish which type of individual you are, and use social media, or not, as is appropriate.
Speaking as someone for whom the only 'social media' was sites like this one, I know which one I am - but honestly cannot be bothered to interact on current social media formats.

"Hormonal teenagers" need to get a grip then, ummm.
I cannot imagine when I was a teenager (hormonal or otherwise) doing something repeatedly that clearly caused me so much distress. Once would have been quite enough. If hormonal teenagers are dopey enough to keep doing something that distresses them so much that it drives some of them to suicide I'm afraid Darwinism seems to be rearing it head.
The response to these distressed folk needs to be a little more robust. They are not victims of other people's actions they are victims of their own stupidity. They need to be told this and if necessary access to the electronic gadgets which causes them so much pain must be curtailed.

I understand where ummm is coming from.
The problem a teenager who is being abused on Twitter CAN disengage, but it means they then disengage from the primary communications means that they have with their friends.
It's like disconnecting your phone because you're getting nuisance sales calls.
And the thing is - Twitter, Snapchat, Facebook and Instagram are what teenagers use to communicate. It's their version of using the phone.

With regards to what I said earlier about Twitter trolls. All you need to do is raise your head above the parapet...

I stand by my original position.
If i thought a child of mine was being traumatised by 'trolling' i would be having a word with them about their self-esteem, and underlining that fact that such issues really have no import except if allowed to intrude into the life of the receiver.
Learning to ignore stupidity and ignorance is a built-in factor of using the internet - i would suggest that anyone 'hounded to death' by 'trolls' has emotional issues that go way deeper than a few harsh words from an anonymous numpty.

"...why should someone deny themselves of social media because of a few twisted people?"
Because clearly some aspects of it upsets them profoundly. There isn't a cat in Hell's chance of the abuse being eliminated so youngsters must learn to live with it. They must either adjust their usage of gadgets so as not to encounter the abuse (because, as far as I can gather, nobody can offer abuse without some positive action by the abusee) or just lump it.
I can't quite agree that the youngsters will cut themselves off from their friends. They can still text them or (and here's a radical suggestion) actually speak to them. And once again I'm completely with Andy. Youngsters must learn that occasionally in life things will upset them. Instead of expecting the full panoply of the "protection" agencies to swing into gear they should be encouraged to deal with the upset in the way that best suits them. But deal with it they must.
