after all the money spent and delays the trams get going however a few weeks into it they are delayed by a balloon of all things what do abers think?

Might be useful if all transport was like it but one can get electric vehicles anyway. And a few trams won't make a lot of difference. The problem with vehicles going electric is that we already want to know how we are going to supply the power demand already, without encouraging demand growth.
The problem with having a tram system is that it freezes the transport routes. That's why so many cities had to do away with them after WWII. With their populations moving from slums to new housing estates on the outskirts, and traditional industries moving, or closing down, the old tram routes became redundant.
