The Israelis will warn that they will bomb a certain building within a few hours giving sufficient time to evacuate the building. Instead of emptying the building they will move families into the building. When these innocent people are killed Hamas will use it as propaganda and blame the Israelis.
When a truce is called who keeps on firing? Invariably it will be Hamas. What do the Israelis do? They use a hammer to crush a nut.
Sad thing is, there is no answer!!

\\\\ but knowingly killing babies/children/women/old people is wrong,,,,,,,,,,,\\\
The key word is "knowingly".
Knowingly is leading women, children and babies to the gas chambers as did the Germans in WW2.
When civilians die, this is "collateral damage" unavoidable as seen in the bombing of Dresden and Coventry in WW2.
The Israelis and Hamas both are guilty of producing "collateral damage"...it is unavoidable in war.

I have been watching this conflict for years on the news, the palestinian people always suffer, not the soldiers, but the civilians. yasser Arafat was getting close to some sort of truce, but died or was murdered before it happened. This is like Eireland, i have been seeing them on the news since the 60's, a smaller scale, but still no answer. What do this minority of people in any country hope to acheive?? the've crossed the line big time, now regarded as terrorists, no hope of them ever being in charge of a government recognised by other nations.
Sqad if you get the chance have a read of this book

well my old man has gone to his grave thinking near 500,000 were killed
.>Nazi government ordered its press to publish a falsified casualty figure of
200,000 for the Dresden raids, and death toll estimates as high as 500,000
have been given. The city authorities at the time estimated no more than 25,000 victims, a figure which subsequent investigations, including one commissioned by the city council in 2010, support.

War is about propaganda. Over the years I have become very much a cynic - do not trust the press and the BBC anymore.
Over the last few years I have had the fortune to travel over the world. Have seen television reports, read newspapers, books etc from all over the world. As a 60 year old I am still being educated. There is always 2 sides to the story.
As DrFilth has mentioned - was it 25,000 or 500,000 killed in Dresden. The Germans will have said 500,000, the bombers will say 25,000. Who is right? Nobody will ever know the truth!!

> The Dresden Historians' Commission published a report this week claiming that only 25,000 people were killed in the Allies' air raid of the German city Dresden during world war II , unlike the previous estimation of up to half a million casualties, news agencies reported.
Over five years of research went into the study, in an attempt to end a long time dispute regarding the amount of casualties in the three-day bombing by British and United States between February 13 and 15, 1945.
"Remembering the Allied bombings of Dresden... still carries importance for the social-political understanding of how history is seen, how society is shaped, and how identities are formed," the commission was quoted as saying. < .
