There were unproven allegations at the previous local elections. There is bitter rivalry between the Labour Party and this new Party. It was anticipated the election would be close, and on previous form, losing candidates were alleging fraud. So the police were there to observe everything was fair, and hopefully not have a repeat of previous years where people were making allegations that they could not prove.
The anti-Corruption scialist got less than 1% of the vote, but is alleging fraud. It is just possible his complaint is politically motivated. But we will have to see if the Labour Party's evidence is robust or not (the Labour Party, even though they compiled the dossier, are not part of the petition).
Nothing was So these elections were under close scritiny

Come one AOG you know the.re is an old t+sser on this thread who insists that unless there is a court case with a verdict nothing can be concluded
and even if accusations are untrue are there lessons to be learnt ....
I would say 'yes' as it is about probity and voting, and one can always to strive improve the security of the system
so we can learn something no matter what...

How can lessons be learnt when we nor a judge and jury have actually heard any evidence? We can only make conclusions from finding out the facts of the accusations. They may prove to be true, but we cannot learn lesson until we know what went on.
We have an unusual situation in Tower Hamlets where the locals are rejecting the established political parties in favour of a community party. That sort of disruption to the extablished order is going to make them enemies.
Let's just wait for this to go to court and a verdict before we start to nullify election results.
