I'm All Hoovered Out!

We have a Dyson vacuum cleaner. For ages it has been playing up so we bought a new bar. Put it in I did the carpet, still not picking up. Took it to pieces belt broke changed belt. Did carpet again. Today I hovered all downstairs again. Still not picking up. OH took it apart, jiggled about, put it together again still not working. Decided to take it to SIL. He'd lent us his spare one while he looked at it. I hoovered downstairs again. This one not picking up also. Realised rollers not going round. Discovered a switch that makes rollers go round. Did all carpets again. Still not picking up. Turn upside down and discovered why. The rollers were absolutely full of hairs and also a pair of tight wrapped around roller. The mound of hairs had to be seen to be believed. OH had to cut them with a Stanley knife to release them. There are four girls in the house all with long hair. Also two cats and three dogs. So not surprising things were so bad.
So I hoovered again and. This time it cleaned the carpets properly. Job done but I'm absolutely cream crackered.

Next time buy a Vax.

Next time buy a Miele! I threw away my Dyson, it was rubbish.

Henry Hound for animal hair, even deals with my Mute when he blows his coat.

It sounds like if you put all the various bits together Caran you may have a decent vacuum cleaner which will have some suction lol.No wonder you are cream crackered!

I can't reiterate enough - Dyson - bad bad news. I too threw my mine on a skip. Absolute hopeless. Bissell - best thing happened to me. One for upstairs and one for downstairs. Absolutely Brill.

I have a black Labrador (dog, that is), a daughter who sheds hair, a Miele Cat and Dog, a Henry, and an ancient Dyson held together with duct tape and prayer. Give me the Dyson any day for dog and girl hairs on carpets. Unwieldy, heavy, falling apart, sounds like a traction engine, useless on hard floors, but I love it.

I have a Dyson stick vacuum and I love it, it cost me £330 a few weeks ago, I used to have a Hetty but it didn't pick up the cat hair, the new Dyson does it brilliantly.

I haven't got the girls and animals. Daughter has, that's why their Hoover was in a mess. I just hope SIL can fix my Dyson. It has been brilliant, had it for 15/16 years. Only last few weeks played up.

Caran - re Dyson. I have had calls from companies who know I have a Dyson. They offer to 'service' it. They are cowboys.

I got my hoover serviced by dyson well worth the money £69. I got new motor, brush bar, front bar, belt, 2 new filters and a complete new hose now got near all new machine. All you have to do is register with dyson phone up when you need a service well worth it.
