To add to a post that was put on Earlier this week about the Migrant's in France, they know the system in the UK and they have also seen the response by the UK Gov regards them getting deported on them getting killed if they return home, I am a person that has feelings, I also am a person that thinks, enough is enough of the people that are trying " It Seems only through FRANCE" I have not driven a HGV Via France & I do feel for the HGV Drivers that are fined for not seeing these people get into their Trailers, the people who are at fault are the French Port Authority for not doing the job properly that they are employed to do, the cost of these people getting sent to their country of Origen should be met by their Government, there has been comments that these people will work!!! that's if they can find them when they arrive here, as most find their way to vanish, again by people who can not do their job properly, the UK Port Control, for any person out there that is not aware with incoming ports, they are secure " or should be" Who is the Judge? are we to sort? should we say come on in we will help you, or should we say to the UK Government, THE GATE SHOULD BE SHUT?

The gate is shut - and should stay shut - but they wriggle through the gaps in the bars. We need to construct a solid gate.

Had we any sense we would be only allowing a fair portion of genuine asylum seekers, out of sympathy for our fellow human beings, and those who can put an acceptable case for being considered a special case. We are full in this country, we need a larger population like we need a hole in the head. France should sort out their own immigrants not allow them to pass through to where they are not entitled.
Compassion is all very fine, but if it binds you from making the harsh decisions necessary then it is a liability rather than a benefit. One needs to be able to analyse and see what is the best course of action is, and ensure it is done.

douglas, as new judge very kindly pointed out, I was speaking metaphorically.
We are groaning at the seams and something radical needs to be done.
How many EU countries do these migrants travel through to reach the UK?
The only reason they don't seek a new life in the EU countries they pass through is because they know how soft we are.

If Salmond gets his way and an Independent Scotland it will solve the problem overnight!
Who would want to stay in England when Scotland offers full employment, higher wages, higher benefits, lower taxes, free university education , free prescriptions for all, better schools and education, better housing with no 'Bedroom tax' and a general 'paradise' for all? They will be queuing up at the border and we can do a 'France' and send them all North!

The only problem with your otherwise excellent idea, Eddie, is that should Scotland become an independent nation and despite what Mr Salmond would have his electorate believe, they will cease to be a member of the EU and will thus not be bound but that organisation's lunatic "free movement" regulations. This means that they will not be compelled to allow anybody from England to cross the border and I cannot imagine their new government being so foolish as to allow all and sundry in to plunder their riches.
Hang on! I've just had a thought. Instead of the much promised referendum on leaving the EU perhaps England should have a referendum on leaving the UK, then we too would be thrown out of the EU. Job done !!!

Also, and crucially, they won't be able to afford any of that free stuff anyway.
