Watching Russian t.v. and I didn't fully appreciate that the murderous thugs in IS were armed by the U.S. to help them fight Assad in Syria. Here we go again.

not everything on Russian tee vee is untrue and yes the Americans armed the rebels and gallant freedom fighters in N Syria which later turned into Isis.

The thing is that they didn't arm anyone, sadly. Now the Free Syrian army are desperate for help as they are fighting both Assad and IS
In fact it was Assad who was helping the fledgling IS to start with as he apparently wanted to encourage the idea that his government was fighting an Islamist insurgency.
Oh well, you reap what you sow :-)
