Joan Rivers...unacceptable Comments ?
http:// edition .cnn.co m/2014/ 08/07/s howbiz/ joan-ri vers-is rael-ga za/
It appears that this loud-mouth has put both feet in it again. She said this about the Gaza dead :::: "at least the ones that were killed were the ones with very low IQs"

Thanks for that Slaney, on the basis of viewing that, what she said was 100% unacceptable .

I've been thinking about this a lot because it's a horrible comment and yet she says she's been misquoted or at least the quote taken out of context. Nowhere can I find the whole context of what she says she says.
Now if this is solely about Gaza and the children killed etc then //at least the ones that were killed were the ones with very low IQ's// is a pretty scuzzy quote by anyone's standards.
However if she was speaking about the issues in the middle east generally and suicide bombers then //at least the ones that were killed were the ones with very low IQ//- MIGHT refer to suicide bombers and thus be entirely out of context.
Ed Byrne made similar remarks ages ago about suicide bombers in his IRA stand-up. It was not badly received by anyone because the context was clear.
I would like to see the whole transcript of what she said, but that is the only context I can see it being even vaguely acceptable in.

mikey 0823 post
Well there we have it then. All ABers must agree with mikey's view/slant or we are wrong. Our posts might be even described as drivel or irrelevant if it varies from mikey's dictate. Rather bombastic and arrogant view I think. Thank God we are all different, think for ourselves and prefer to work on hard evidence before we start spouting our forceful opinions on others. "appears that this loud mouth has put both feet in it again" pot kettle calling black?

Out of context my butt.
Thanks slaney. Now we can see what she meant completely within context.
I was a fan of Joan Rivers in the 80s, but I think her time has passed (watched a documentary on her last year and the jokes she makes about Miley Cyrus are exactly the same ones she made about Madonna 30 years ago).
The 'apology' is actually quite offensive itself, because apparently she thinks it's the media's fault for misrepresenting her, when in fact we can all see and hear EXACTLY what she said in the clips.
Sad.
