It' all a bit of a non event ( at least until the BBC decided to remove the scene) and tbh if it was a 'lesbian kiss' it was the least erotic thing I've ever seen. It was an air exchange between two lesbian characters, not quite the same thing, nothing erotic or sexual about it at all. Should it have been removed because someone's sensibiities got upset? No because...

It seems that it is you who hasn't read the Daily Mail report, I have and I fail to see where it mentions six people who are offended, even I have not said that I am offended, but because the BBC cut the scene they are being accused of homophobia, when they cut it because of some Asian countries non acceptance of homosexuality.

Again! Again! and Again, Since I do not watch Dr Who I could care less if it was included in the show or not, but I question the fact for the need by the BBC to include it, if in their wisdom they later knew that they would have to remove it for some audiences?
So now can we put an end to all this clutter as I am now becoming rather bored with the whole matter of Doctor Who, Madame Vastra and FlintLesbian kisses, same-sex love, exchanges of oxygen, Lizard women, Jane Ray, George Dixon, the BBC, Gay rights campaigners, Peter Thatchet, Richard Lane, Stonewall, some ABers, Bigotry and Homophobia accusations, and Asian audiences,

I can only assume that you feel that lesbians spoil sci-fi in the same way that black people spoil drama.

answer 'a) it was not a lesbian scene.
The plot involved the members of the cast holding their breath to avoid been detected by the current 'baddies'. One of the cast had trouble holding their breath and was in danger of gasping and endangering the other members -so female lizard gave 'kiss of life' to female member of cast allowing her to remain holding her breath and not be killed by the 'baddies'. Hope this lurid lesbian scene has not excited or offended too many people .It was removed by the BBC for the sole purpose of enabling the programme to be sold in certain Asian countries
