On the one hand clouds are handy as they reduce the reliance on hardware and the risk of permanently losing vital data. On the other hand it does have some security risks. I don't think it's stupid to use the cloud but people should be mor careful. Unfortunately these days mistakes that most people would have mase get magnified out of all proportion in the Internet age.
in all seriousness, i have used a digital camera twice for very personal photos. One was to record an area of extensive and impressive bruising, caused by my leaping dogs, before a mammogram so that if anything showed up on the mammogram due to the bruising, I had a record of where it had been. The other was to show my late mother the progress of a wound on her back where a skin cancer had been removed. I couldn't/wouldn't have done either of those things with a film camera, well maybe with a polaroid camera but the film is no longer made.
I have always been wary of cloud storage, but just get scorned by folk who claim it is being paranoid, and everything is encoded and safe.
Like much in today's world, we are supposed to trust all sorts of IMO dodgy latest things, imposed. We even get companies who are really keen to place their vital industrial secrets into someone else's hands based on a promise, "All is well, trust us".
Which reminds me I must write to my bank about contactless cashpoint/debit cards.

There are some nude photos of me out there somewhere, not digital copies. I was 17 years old and very drunk when they were taken. My boyfriend of the time worked in a photo processing place so god knows how many copies were printed. I never saw the photos myself and have no idea what he did with them.
I know they were taken og, I may have been drunk but not so drunk that I didn't know what was going on, in fact I have never been drunk enough to be unaware of my actions! The photos exist, I know a couple of people who have seen them (one of my sisters and a friend), I never saw them as I split with the boyfriend soon after the photos were taken.
