We often hear it said that if an adult man has sexual relations with under-aged boys they are not homosexuals but paedophiles.

Does the same apply in cases such as this, is this woman not a Lesbian (as the Mail has described her) but is in actual fact a paedophile?

Not in the UK, AOG. A paedophile would be charged under the Sexual Offences Act 2003 for specific offences against a child under the age of 13.

But that's completely true. Jeremy Forrest (who fled to France with is 15 year old lover) was not characterised as a paedophile.

I think that most people would get the difference, that a child between the ages of 0 and 13 is a much different proposition than one at 15, and this is reflected in sentencing guidelines.

sp this question cropped up a few weeks ago, it appears that a paedophile is generally accepted in most legal sysems to be a person who has sex with children up to the age of 11 years. don't think our opinions come into it, not even AOG's.
The teacher was not jailed for having lesbian sex since it is not illegal, she was jailed for statutory rape.

And the reason for asking such a question was because many moons ago, you and I had different views, when you defended men who had sexual relations with boys by saying they were not gays, but paedophiles.
