funny how we never had this sort of problem until multi-culturalism was forced on us and then rammed down our throats at all and every opportunity

It's pathetic.

I must admit though my father would have gone to the school and confronted the teacher. He was a nightmare. In his eyes I could do no wrong. It was actually very embarrassing.

Some parents are completely irrational about their kids. It's not just religion....

This has little to do with religion, it is the reaction of oversensitive parents to supervising and chastising their "little darlings."

It is of no surprise to me and until we bring back corporal punishment in our schools, this inability to discipline our children, will continue.

I disagree. My mum and her siblings were raised by a very violent man. Her, and her older siblings, chose to not to smack. Her younger brother beat his kids. The result....he has 5 violent children whereas the rest of us are pretty laid back

I agree with Ummmm.
My parents were violent towards us. I decided to break the chain and didn't hit my kids. I have lovely adults now.
My sister on the other hand did hit her kids and she has bred a load of badly adjusted drama queens.
All of her grandchildren also have ADHD. Coincidence?

Sqad, I beg to differ. The headscarf worn by Muslim women has everything to do with religion. This is an example of a notion that many religious people, of all sorts of flavours, are deluded into believing – that they possess an unquestionable right to demand ‘respect’ for their foibles and to cry ‘offence’ at any perceived departure from that requirement.

Frog....absolutely. My sister hit her kids and they are soooo disfuctional.

Hitting little people is lack of self control, imo.

My mother said if you're going to hit your kids hit them as a punishment. NEVER because you've lost your temper. If you stick by that rule you don't hit people....especially little people.

As I read this it was not telling her to stop fiddling with her scarf and pay attention that was the problem but the alleged threat to 'throw it in the bin'
That may have been the teachers thoughts but she should have kept them private. I bet the pupil went home and reported to her parents that the teacher threatened to throw her head scarf in the bin ,which would have been untrue. I also bet the girl knew that telling her parents this would cause trouble and so get her 'revenge' for being told off.
Just hope the police have sufficient brains to throw out the complaint.

The scarves should not be wore in the classroom in the first place.

And it is a pity some of these frequently complaining Muslims, do not complain with the same amount of vigour against the savagery committed by their brothers and sisters in the Middle East.

The last sentence of the report intrigues me:

Whilst the teacher's comment may, with hindsight, have been inappropriate, why would anyone contact the police over this?
