Referendum
Of course the GOOD thing about the result of the Scottish Referendum is,
We will not have a Perpetual Tory government in the UK,so some good came out of Scotland. ----- Enjoy.

After a lifetime voting Labour, they taught me to vote Conservative, so I can only imagine I've missed something. Perhaps you'll tell me what that is?
Naomi...I will have a go at answering your question of 08:21, although its likely that you won't agree. But I will have a go anyway.
Years and years of de-industrialisation by the Tories from 1979 onwards. Millions of people on the dole and widespread unemployment in large areas of the country. Devastation of whole communities. Richer getting considerably richer and the poor getting considerably poorer. Lots of bright young things with red braces on, driving around the M25 in their Porsches, and long queues at the dole offices everywhere else.
I know its not terribly convenient to be reminded of this but Labour swept to power in a landslide Election in May 1997, an Election result not seen since 1945. They gave devolution to Scotland and Wales...not overly popular within the M25 but a real success north of the Border and across my side of the Severn Bridge. The Labour administration brought in the Minimum wage, a move that the Tories failed to do in the 18 years that they were in office. The Tories fought against this highly popular move but now their official line is that they like the idea after all !
There are many reasons why people vote Labour, and they are still doing so today. Its obvious to anyone that if the Tories were not outnumbered by Giant Pandas in Scotland, the Referendum might never have taken place after all.
