I was always taught that men should walk on the side of the pavement next to the traffic.
The article is not as bad as the headline...

At my school everybody was told to keep to the left on passing each other.
So was I, Chris. Also walk don't run and keep to the left in the school corridors.
Perhaps, given the intended audience, it should have said "Jewish women...." not all of us.
Chico is right. I was taught the same. It was to prevent women from unwanted splashes caused by traffic driving through puddles. Also it made it easier for a gentleman to draw his sword. The rule was men on the right, women on the left. Just watch a bridal procession in church.
So women can't be right hand men then?

I read it as the women were advised to walk on the right hand side while the men walked on the opposite side...to avoid touching.
I've pulled it out a few times.

Bet they wouldnt have dared do anything about the posters if it was muslims though.....too scared to dare upset them in any way or form
