Old_Geezer - "I guess he must have been one of those who considered grabbing tits & bum a form of flirting. I've met one or two of those in the past. Strange how some folk can't or simply never think of putting themselves in the position of those they are affecting." That was pretty much Travis's defence - saying 'I am a tactile person ...' which translates as - "If I...

Andy, //the women in question did mind - very much,//

But not so much that she complained when it happened 20 years ago. We live in different times now and I agree with Dave and Svejk. It doesn’t justify a court case years after the event - it’s nothing a slap round the chops or a knee in the appropriate place wouldn’t have sorted at the time. That’s what most of us have done in similar circumstances – and I know few women who haven’t been in similar circumstances. This is a bandwagon that, strangely enough, is full of famous people. That’s handy. (No pun intended).
If all the ladies who had been 'touched up' sometime in their lives were asked to stand, would many remain seated?
I doubt it very much.
And if all the ladies who were 'touched up' by a pig(bloke) turned it into a court case our legal system would break down.
It would be interesting to ask how many ladies here have never been touched inappropriately. I'll post the question in Chatterbank. Watch this space for the result.
Used to know DLT and was hugged once. Nothing untoward.
I have been "attacked" many times by women, - ahhh fond memories, no complaints.
Khandro, that's the difference between men and women. Men, in the main, find it amusing - women don't. See my thread in Chatterbank - and then take a look at Slapshot's.

So do I.
The whole DLT thing is so sad.
If he wasn't famous it wouldn't have happened.
Agree with Nazza ^^^

Can't help thinking "bandwagon" and "gravy train"
If he wasn't famous it wouldn't have happened

Perhaps if he wasn't famous he wouldn't have done it. Feeling that you're too famous to be prosecuted seems to be a feature in the behavour of people like Harris and Savile.
What kind of a sentence is he facing?
jno, //Feeling that you're too famous to be prosecuted seems to be a feature in the behavour of people like Harris and Savile. //

Is that how he felt then? He isn't Harris or Savile.

Jordyboy 9 "I feel so sorry for him having to go through all this adverse publicity, for what?"

I think you'll find they call it justice.

According to the press reports, the lady in question did complain to the programme producer, but her complaint was not pursued.

We did live in different times then - times when a woman would not be listened to, or believed if she raised a complaint of this type of assault - but that does not make it alright, simply because it was 'the way things were.'

Men beating and raping their wives, children dying in mill machinery, bears being bated in the streets - these were all 'the way things were' - it doesn't mean that they were right.
